Stay in Washington DC? we stay at the Quality Inn in College Park and offers a free shuttle to the University of Maryland, the National Archives, Adelphi Road, College Station Metro Park, the building of the USDA, the road to River, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center ... are one of those near the White House, or in the field of Holocaust museum and memorial in Washington?
College Park is a suburb north of Washington. To get to downtown, you'll need to take the shuttle to the College Park Metro station and take the Green Line in the city. The train trip to the Archives / Navy Memorial Station near the National Mall takes about half an hour. From there, you will be able to walk to the White House, Washington Monument and the Museum of the Holocaust, which are all located in the downtown.
I agree with the previous poster. If you can get to a subway station, you're all set. There are not many CD that you can access via the subway. Take a map and be prepared to refer to many, but the metro is really fantastic.
Follow the link below to go to the museum. You can not miss the Washington Memorial from there. If it's nice outside, I recommend you take a camera and some good walking shoes and make the loop of memories.
