Planet Hollywood Times Square

Planet Hollywood Times SquareHas anyone been to Planet Hollywood Times Square in New York for New Year's Eve?

Can you see the ball drop live (not on TV) from here?
Is it worth paying the extra for VIP tickets to the 4th floor?
The Hard Rock better?

I've never been inside Planet Hollywood, but I passed it many times and I was in Times Square to see the ball drop last year. I'm not familiar with their VIP section or anything, but you probably have a somewhat decent ball. You'd probably have to be pressed against the window and looked out into the streets to see him there - that this restaurant does not have a direct view of the ball.

I do not know if you would be able to see better than Hard Rock. They both have similar views.

As a New Yorker I want to stay as far away as possible tourist trap. Save yourself time, $ and a headache. Invite your friends to your place and watch it on television.

it is worth going to New York on NYE only for the experience. do not expect at all to get a nice, comfortable, warm to the dropping ball and Ryan Seacrest do the countdown, as if you were in bed watching the event. there are many random drunks, rowdy people who * do not care about your safety or the dropping ball. One of my friends was standing outside on the street do their MTV special and a bad guy took one of his links * tit really hard and twisted. Planet Hollywood NYE good burgers might be safer there. have fun.

few years ago, I saw the ball drop on the roof of a building in Times Square because my friends husband works as a security guard and they had a big party, I must say that I 'I loved, but it was close there were about 50,100 people and it was great, but I definetely would not go down the street and be there for hours in the cold waiting for a ball to fall I'd rather stay in a house with friends and he sees on TV.
