Vegas hotels. I'm traveling to Las Vegas and planned to stay at Caesars Palace, or Planet Hollywood? They said Caesars Palace is located in the middle of the band that is exactly what I wanted, but what about Planet Hollywood? Is the middle too. And if I end up staying at Planet Hollywood, I still wanted to do some shopping at Caesars. How close are they?
The two hotels are actually not that far from each other. The best way to go up and down the strip is to get a 24hr pass the Deuce, this way you can get on and off the bus all day. Here is a map of the Vegas Strip to give you an idea of the location of the hotel.

How did you choose wither or Planet Hollywood Caesars? The palace is more expensive, the Mirage is here and next to Caesars, it operates 55 mid-night week. Imperial Palace is located in the middle of everything equally. Shopping at Caesars and Bellagio are an amazing thing.
Close is a relative term, especially in Las Vegas. Everything seems so close, as it is right next to you, but it seems to take forever to walk there. Caesars is the dead center on the tape where the pH is slightly to the south. Remember that the Flamingo is the first station on the band and everything is built from this central point. Caesars is directly across from the Flamingo. Take the fact that the shops of the Forum are further north of the Caesars. I recommend instead Caesars PH in your case.
They are few hotels outside. PH is next to the new city center, Paris, Bellagio, NY, NY, MGM, etc. Caesar is closer Mirage, TI, Venetian, Wynn.
So they both races, called PH Miracle Mile. The pH is also more recently updated (November 2008 I think) and has a younger crowd. Hope that helps. Enjoy!
Caesars is in the middle, the pH is not, but you can walk from any casino PH. Sahara Hotel at Mandalay Bay is 3.8 miles
