What is worrying is that these scientists expect will peak in this period. And it is very possible that solar storms can be as volatile as those of 1859 that the son telegraph fried.

Why is this important? That is what the Natioanl Academy of Sciences has to say, "A repetition of the contemporary event [1859] would cause much more extensive (and perhaps catastrophic) of social and economic disruption."

At first reading, this passage does not seem to be ominous, but ignored. Observations from NASA on this statement and believes that the potential damage could reach 2.1 trillion dollars. estimated cost of Hurricane Katrina damage was between 80 and 125 billion dollars, which is 1000-2000 times less! No one can deny that much damage. Are we ready?

It is difficult to imagine life without electricity. Most of our facilities would be unnecessary. Communications, travel, food, water, fuel would soon become extremely rare. The reconstruction of the grid could take years.

In addition to forecasts of NASA, satellites of Themis, the study shows the earth's magnetic shield that there are holes in our defense. In the case of a large solar storm, what are the consequences?

Whatever your opinion about the Mayan 2012 prophecy , NASA and the National Academy of Sciences, and predict some unusual events potentially devastating for the time 2012-2013. What time frame is the same as the Mayan prophecy, I will let you draw your own conclusions.

Whether you believe the Mayan prophecy or not, the best scientific forecasting, not predict, major events for 2012-2013. There is a difference. Accurate data is the basis for forecasts, projections statistically, of course. Nevertheless, the forecasts are based on concrete data. Whereas predictions or prophecies can be based on something else. You decide.

Decide for yourself. In 2012 the end of the world ? Prepare the possibilities. Why not be prepared and arm yourself with knowledge?
