Video games are the greatest invention of man Throughout time man has invented, innovated, and dreamed big for us to our world today. Is the wheel the greatest invention or the cell phone, or perhaps modern medicine? No. Video games are the greatest invention of man ... easily.
Why can something so trivial be as of importance and even greater than the wheel or even the vaccine against smallpox? The answer is simple but you must open your mind, video games are responsible for creating more imaginative minds than any wheel or cell phone has already created. Modern technologies have allowed dreamers to create their own 3D worlds, universes if you will, begin to compete with the size of our own planet. If God is thought to have the biggest imagination of all, it is evident he has given us the opportunity to think big, but we did not have the tools until recently.
Early man showed signs of artistic thought and thinking outside the box with pictures telling stories about the great sides of ancient cave walls, we would have known about their artistic side, if the cave or the material they have written with no? Of course not, as we would not know Mozart was a great piano player, or Michael Jordan is the greatest player in basketball ever if the piano or basketball were not created. There are inventions that allow people the most freedom to express themselves, who they are, what they think and what they dream. Never in the history of man has a tool allowed to speak with great force other than video games.
In a world where we are limited to 100 years or less, video games allow people to explore vast universes, join hunting parties, friendships, establish enemies in combat, lose battles, gain great victories, and still live to fight another day. It is the greatest master of all that encourages trial and error, and think outside the box. Has a wheel ever inspired a child to dream of another universe, or whether he / she is a relentless explorer, an Achiever, a socialite, or maybe even a great guild leader?
It is easy to watch a game and judge it at face value as a fun toy to play with while watching the wheel as the greatest advancement of architecture in the modern world. I just wonder what is more important: To understand the architecture and the intricacies of the wheel and forms or can jeopardize the very thing discovered and simulate your own virtual empire with all different shapes and sizes.
Imagine if our ancestors had the opportunity to play Eve Online two thousand years ago. They are so excited about space travel and virtual space they have played in, they probably would have imagined a better space shuttle than we currently use. Only a handful of people really dream into space, which is why NASA is not progressing as fast as he could. What if every child in America has been exposed to simulation model of space travel, space exploration, in a 3D environment that would rival real life? The result would be a society hell to travel outside our solar system. These children become adults, adult explorers, leading the way for exploration because of a spark, a seed of imagination rooted in their psyche since they discovered their virtual space.
Should we ask why our society sucks violence and misery that we are constantly exposed as children? We seek in our adult life what we know to be true as children. Fortunately, there are video games to save our minds from "reality" and allow us once again to think of possibilities and a world where boundaries become laughable and society becomes free wanted.
So log onto World of Warcraft, City of Heroes, Ultima Online, Shadowbane, DAoC, Tabula Rasa, or perhaps Eve Online, without feeling guilty for expressing your inner self. The wheel of time to shine has come a.
