What would be your biggest goal of engineering? Become a teacher, working for NASA or simply stay on a desk in front of a PC with a decent salary.
and what field would you work?
This week I will start my thesis on the CFD. I'm so excited, and this is the area in which I specialize in the future.
I know that NASA engineers, and you know what? It is the same as any other engineering firm, really. The way projects are handled and resolved not very different from the way Boeing and GE does things. Certainly there are particular problems and questions, but there are also in the construction of an airliner or a hydroelectric plant.
Many of us are very comfortable to be competent engineers, and simply pile on experience to enhance our skills. Others turn to engineering as a means of chain company, gain power and influence. And of course, as you have begun, many are interested in academia.
There are many ways to grow in the area because there are engineers in the field. I think the best advice I can give in this time is to stay flexible. Do not stovepipe yourself in a career that may not be practical in a constantly changing and evolving field. Look at all the opportunities you're presented with.
