Make Your Own Astronaut Costume

Make Your Own Astronaut CostumeYour opinion on Spiderman 4? Raiamas Director and Dr. Maguire return?

Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood reports that Sony has locked in director Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire stars for more than two "Spider-Man" movies. She also says Kirsten Dunst is likely to return, but an agreement has not been finalized.

Who will be the villain? I see the vulture or Electro (or both), but if Finke unnamed sources are right, it will be the Lizard (which is good and not really a surprise given the careful setup in previous films) or Man wolf (which leaves me a little cold and perhaps too close to the next "man-wolf"). Anyway, here's what Finke reports:

Sony is taking its time officially hiring the movie's villain since filming will not start on Spider-Man 4 until next fall because of the recent surrender in May 2011 press release. I am told, however, that "once you find out who is the villain, you know who he plays." This should lead to speculation that Dylan Baker's character Dr. Curt Connors will ultimately turn into a lizard as he did in comic books. There is another character who has been established, but is a real Longshot - Daniel Gillies, who plays John Jameson, the astronaut fiance of Mary Jane in Spider-Man 2. In the comics, he becomes the villain Man-Wolf. Raimi has said in the past that he wants the best actors to play villains in the film, not necessarily the most famous.

I am also told that, now, the studio is trying to figure out if it can feasibly shoot Spider-Man 4 and 5 at the same time because it is so profitable and "it was not so easy to convince everyone back together. "

She also said there is interest in a ramp movie Venom. This one I just do not get. I never paid much character, and I was surprised that Raimi, a die-hard devotee of Steve Ditko, bowed to pressure to put in movies. Finke:

And Sony has hired a pair of writers to go on the Spider-Man 3 Venom movie spin-off. Since comic / writer and action figure maker, Todd McFarlane, who is one of the creators of Marvel villain, does not think a Venom movie could do well with a villain as the central character, my sources think Sony should let Topher Grace, even if it was destroyed at the end of Spider-Man 3 (yet a portion of the Venom costume survived), stay in the role because the likeable actor could be aa sympathetic evildoer.

I'd be very happy to see Raimi and Maguire back together on Spider-Man. The third film was vague and strange indulgent (it also seems rushed towards me like he needed a few more changes) and I hated the way it undermined its own history (both in screen and in the comics) by rewriting the murder of Uncle Ben and put the gun in the hand of Sandman. terrible idea. Nevertheless, I still consider Raimi the gold standard in that the filmmakers adapting comics. I also think he has learned from the mistakes of "Spider-Man 3".

The reason I'm confident that Raimi will not be another "Spider-Man 3" is he openly regretted what he had done with the film even before it came out. What it says Comic Book Resources back in April 2007 a few weeks before the release of "Spider-Man 3":

There are so many fears, I made this film, only one of them. Only one in my vast array of things that I'm terrified people will not like. I worked on the story of my brother Ivan. Mainly, it was a story that featured the Sandman. It was really about Peter, Mary Jane, Harry and the new character. When we were done, Avi Arad, my partner and president of Marvel at the time, came up to me and said: "Sam, you're not careful enough fans. You need to think of them ..
