Lonely Planet Tokyo

I'm traveling to Japan at the end of the year and will be there for one month in December. I spend most of my time in Tokyo, but would like to travel around Hokkaido to say, Sendai, Osaka, Kyoto, etc.
I want to buy a travel guide book, but I do not know which is best and can not decide for you. I was planning to get the Lonely Planet guide to Japan, but then saw other books such as Guide to eyewitnesses in Japan, the Japanese code, etc. Please help me choose one that will be useful for my trip. Thank you.

I recommend Lonely Planet. I have not used the Japanese edition, but I have always found them as informative and reliable. if trying to find the best cheese store in Amsterdam (I do not know if it was the "best" but I found a very good cheese shop Thanks to Lonely Planet) or choose which islands to visit for a phillipines recent trip (I chose to visit the island of Bohol on the basis of information contained in Lonely Planet and I was extremely glad I did) or even as a guide for visitors to my own city and country I would use and recommend lonely planet travel guides at any time.

I think Lonely Planet book is the best. u can try Rough Guide also have fun ..

Certainly information. I agree with most of IT and find it easy to follow, when I was in Japan.

You can select books from the standard travel guide, but the websites would be much easier and later for important information.
