Lonely Planet New England

Lonely Planet New EnglandCan I travel alone in the U.S. (New York and New England)?

Ive always wanted to go to New York, and im fascinated by American culture.

My only problem is that IM and my friends have all settled down and are associated with large (im 27 and due to the inclination of the climate out of the house)

So IVE planned everything in my head. 8-9 days in New York, followed by a trip to Boston, Maine, Niagara Falls and elsewhere in the distance I can think of. In total, hopefully it will be approximately five weeks.

However, my mom, dad, grandfather, my sister (shes 21) all think I am bored and lonely. Its resonance in me now and begin to happen to me. Will I be alone? Has anyone had similar experiences?

I bought the books for Lonely Planet and I'm about to ask for time off work, and I want to go wrong, but I have this nagging feeling ...

Those who stay in hotels quite affordable? they do things together? or stick to themselves?

any advice would be great.

Go. Lonely schmonley! Americans in general are very affordable. You will be alone, if you choose to be. I can not speak for hostels that I do not stay in most people, but I know who have said they are a great place to meet people. I know the feeling of all the friends marry. If you are not alone after that, you'll have no problem here! You found yourself worried over nothing really. I was very nervous about a trip to Australia alone. I am very well treated for my 30th b-day. I always wanted to go so I finally did. 3 weeks and probably more money than was prudent, but it was excellent, I would do without hesitation. I realized after I landed and got through customs I was stupid before I left.

Application of time, make plans, the family wants to send you a postcard, but that's all they get because they a bunch of negative Nellie's!
Send an e-mail if you have more specific questions. Or if you need someone to take a pint with when you arrive in New York.

You'll be so alone, or overwritten by new friends, as you do. I make friends wherever I am (my wife used to say that I could talk to a tree), but some people could not start a conversation if they cost 5 cents.

Be open to conversation, but be careful. (And hold you in your wallet - everyone will tell you they can get it cheaper for you or make you a better price for the same. They can not.) (If you want to see how friendly New Yorkers really are, you must have been here during the big crash of 1965. Or the Blizzard of 1947 - that everyone in the theater to spend the night, the restaurants do not take money.)

People in hostels usually come in groups and stay in groups, but do not be surprised to find a group that comes from the village next to yours, or the surrounding neighborhood in your city. And there are probably many people who came from where you live, or near, and would be delighted to hear about what happened "back home".

If you want to make friends, it is not difficult in a city with so many different kinds of people. If you do not, you will not know the name of one person in the whole city. But a smile, "I am X and a bit lost - Could you tell me where Y is he? goes a long way. You will get answers from "that way" to "X? Really? I am fascinated by X. It is true that ...?" to "Here I go - Come."

It is for you.

The answer to your question, you'll be well if only he
It's just amazing, all the people where you are going to avoid even
when you go into a store to buy something shopkeepers also
you save so you will help your car and put money in the
cash till and Tak.
