Is it safe for a young woman to travel on its own set s.America? I plan to go first in Lima, Peru, then go to Machu Picchu and so on. I bought a Lonely Planet guide book for my American Journey. One of the ways that I am intending to take the high Andean mountains, in part not the whole way. I must admit that I want to go but I'm afraid I am irrational from myself. Any suggestions on places to avoid and suggestions to ensure safety?
I was in Brazil, Argentina and Peru. Make sure you have learned a good amount of Spanish before you go. I would say a guide in the night. This is not a rich continent.
Should be safe enough that if there are many things that you do not eat .... the people are friendly .... you might meet someone on the road ... lol ....
in any country, it is not safe to travel especially if it has no presence of an adult during his tour
as long as you do not
1) wear tight shorts and short
2) walk through the favelas of Rio or Sao Paulo
Because
Murder rate is 10 times higher than the worst parts of the United States. Rape is common. The police are corrupt and extorting people all the time. Many police officers are in gangs. A Shotting happens every 30 minutes or so. If you stay in the tourist sections, then no worries.
I really want to go one day.
try to go with other people. (A guy)
Do not replace common sense. A wide bad idea, I would say a young woman without language skills only in Latin America would rank pretty high. Find a Travel partner, seriously.
