What were the fireflies "that John Glenn orbiting so-called living on the earth? The pictures he took do not look like sparks for me. Listening to his film shown full, it looks like what he saw defy explanation. And now, NASA has accidentally released a large amount of evidence on television live from what appears to be the same objects as illustrated by John Glenn hovering around the shuttle and space station. NASA has no official position on the issue as far as I know.
Some speculated the origin of ice crystals was urine wind! ;)

He did, * it *, because only the third American in space and the first to move in space long enough to notice such things. However, a quick review of the draft shows that the mercury issue, * the * next flight, Scott Carpenter has been identified as crystals of ice dislodged from outside the spacecraft. So, your "strange objects were indeed found shortly after.

Yes, these too are crystals of ice. The ice will form outside the spacecraft for a variety of reasons, including overboard discharges of waste and water on the satellite when it is launched in the freezing vacuum of space.

Because they are not large fascinating things you seem to think they are. They are tiny ice crystals and were identified as such back in 1962. NASA said nothing about them now because they are perfectly * *. normal and expected
small patches of ice clinging to the outside of the spacecraft. They would be struck off the skin and spacecraft in orbit a few inches and feet of the satellite station-keeping with it. Glenn would see these sunrise and sunset on each orbit above all - right when the sun angle was good for them enlightening.
The second American in orbit, Scott Carpenter, was able to cause these clouds to fight by the side of Mercury. Their origin has been almost settled. One reason NASA did not pay much attention to them now that they are very old news - we are talking 1962!
If there is a moral here is that when confronted with something you can not explain immediately running to an explanation of UFOs is as bad as running a "Gee, that is a miracle! " explanatory.

The problem is that objects in space lose all perspective with nothing familiar around to provide distance and size relationships. What are very small and close objects may appear large and far (and vice versa) without the landmarks that we know on Earth to help us determine the size and distance.
cosmic rays striking the magnetosphere sparks products ... in massive displays, they are called the aurora borealis and are visible from Earth. There, in space, Firefly and the spread of sometimes random sparks are clearly a possibility.
There could be many possibilities of these fireflies John Glenn saw. It may well be our neighboring galaxy or a comet streaming through the Earth.
