Esa Astronaut Recruitment

Esa Astronaut RecruitmentJobs Area - Choose the right path in space

Very few of you reading this will never really work in space - we have another 50 years before a few percent of working people do. But if you want to be an astronaut (cosmonaut, taikonaut), you have two options:

Get a good education in science or technology, a pilot, the diving skills, and wait in line with millions of others.
2GB lucrative business of any kind (except anything to do with the space), save 20 to 30 million, and buy a ticket.

It is much easier than option 1. If you can spare a few hundred billion dollars, you could be the first man to walk on Mars. (If you need a good engineer to help you, I can think of one or two). On the other hand, if you want to get a little closer to the space business, maybe send some poor fool to Mars, you must consider your choice of education and training and apply for jobs the costumes right. Let's define the space activities as a whole, to see where careers are.

Space Agencies
Space activities are still dominated by governments, through their space agencies. The agencies perform scientific missions and to foster the development of space technology. They do not make money, and therefore their programs depend entirely on political support. They do what any sensible company profits would do - take big risks, which result in the most spectacular successes (soft landing a probe on the surface of Titan, Saturn's mysterious moon) and failures (Beagle2 s' crush on Mars). While commercial entities do most of the work they have done for profit or for strategic business. Agencies are also the only running programs manned spaceflight. The exception is near Scaled Composites / Virgin Galactic selling sub-orbital flights for the first time more than 40 years after a government he has achieved.

The world's leading space agencies are the United States, Russia and China, with a club of European countries subscribe to the European Space Agency .. There are a few others, with the Canadian Space Agency is distinguished by its exceptional bang-for-money. (The United Kingdom does not have a Space Agency). Space agencies use staff (direct employees) and contractors (who look like employees, but may be waived in the short term). There is a limit to what you can do as an entrepreneur, so that the highest, significant work is done by officials. Curiously, entrepreneurs tend to be more experienced in the practical things that the officials. It is much easier to get a job in a company supplying contractors in the Space Agency to find a job as staff. Supervising the space agencies oversee programs in science and technology - if you want to do research or make spaceships, jobs Agency are a bit too abstract, where the real work is done (for ESA - NASA for less). The exceptions are the "jobs ops", where tests are conducted and the missions are controlled - you sit in a comfortable chair, wear a helmet, talk on the loops, and make costly mistakes as you type. Space Agencies also use to managers, administrators, computer specialists, accountants, lawyers, doctors and engineers and scientists. Agents have recruitment websites, but you also need to find recruitment websites Contractor Work Order. I will not give them free advertising here, they are easy to find.

Big (Tier One) companies and their suppliers
These people make their spaceship construction money and launchers. There are not many of them in the world, and they are large engineering organizations. Some contractors for similar reasons above. ESA calls these contractors who stresses that there are other kinds of entrepreneurs - the subcontractors. In fact, most of t.
