Dante's Inferno - Game Review "Inferno" from the first part of the poem of Dante Alighieri's "Divine Comedy" has been used as a source of direct inspiration for the new game, produced and developed by Visceral Games (known for Dead Space and Dead Space Extraction). The game remains close to the medieval concept of Dante's Inferno, giving players the chance to travel through the nine circles of suffering, lies beyond our common world, to fight against Lucifer.

Unlike the original poem (which Dante plays himself as a simple civilian who tried to commit suicide before being saved by the Roman poet Virgil), the main character is a warrior who returns home to his beloved Beatrice (actually, she was mistress of Dante secret) to know that she was kidnapped by Lucifer. Being worried that Dante loses his life for the crusade, she has deliberately decided to come to an agreement with Lucifer in which the devil will take charge of his election. If it does not remain faithful to Beatrice and falls in love with a woman, she has to give his soul to the devil.
The story is told through cut-scenes and cinematics, but the back-story of Dante's past actions is represented by cartoons. This is an original aspect that creates an interesting approach to provide a secondary scenario that stands to be much more interesting than the main story. Virgil (Roman poet of the poem's original) is a companion phantom used by developers to continue to provide details on the player on the site and great historical figures who pay for their sins in one of the nine circles of suffering : limbo, lust, gluttony, avarice or greed, anger and gloom, heresy, violence, fraud and treason.

The game starts on an epic scale shows how Dante enters the earth plane in the bowels of hell. Her every movement is doomed to drag the deeper and deeper into the darkness, walking on the platforms and fallen bridges and fighting against the abominable creatures. Dante is slicing his way through hordes of infernal monsters with fake death. Using a battle system similar to titles like God of War Darksiders, or Devil May Cry, the developers have achieved their goal of creating an experience involving brutal and bloody action fast combo moves with time-kill . But like most developers who have tried to copy those listed Games, visceral partially failed in delivering something worthy of mention. For example, the recent Darksiders was nothing but a compilation of many aspects of good catches of decent games that have been recycled and combined in such a way that the end product was a pleasure to play. But Dante's Inferno quickly falls into the abyss of mediocrity because of repetitive combat sequences, fixed camera system and the implementation wrong concept.
