Is it OK to leave son of speakers and cable HD on the ground of a wet crawl space with sand, or should be in place Hello everyone!
Best Buy installed my plasma and stereo configuration. I-wall speakers and son are all executed through the walls and in crawl space. They did not attach the speaker cables of the cable HD. They are lying on the floor of the crawlspace. This does not seem a good idea for me. Are there any pros out there who could offer me some suggestions? Is this a common practice, or is this a big no no?
Thank you!
It depends on local code, but in most places there is a fire hazard!
I would contact your local building inspector and investigating. Most codes are clear, but all low voltage cables must be run in a conduit run if in an area where they might come into contact with moisture, and a crawl space would be an excellent example. They may want to classify the speaker wire low voltage, but it is most often not. More than likely they have also used the incorrect speaker cable rated anyway. After a consultation at both a local inspector and installer of fame, you should contact a lawyer for more details on exactly how to proceed. Make sure you spread your experience around the BB is a terrible company and tolerates a sloppy job.
I hesitate to contact the magazine until the official has the chance to see the manufacture.
I usually fill a glass of water and let them hang in there.
If your son is good, I do not see the harm.
If it were up to me I would put them and how to avoid stepping on them.
The cleanliness of the son is one of the biggest problems with stereos.i always try my best to make them disappear.
It would be better to run through a PVC pipe, but as long as the insulation is good son. They must be beautiful.
Sounds like a big NO-NO to me.
Finally, the crawl space wet sand will your son to corrode, and then you lose your signal.
They should at least put the son in an electric tube continue to insulate your son from corrosion
The cables have a protective coating on them and should be ok. If the crawl space is dry all will go well. If the crawl space is damp, you'll still ok for the moment, but the cables do not break down over time. Whatever you many years.
The son must be in a plastic pipe is done for several reasons the main ones are the shelter of vermin and B so they can be easily replaced if you want to upgrade / switch to another cable or replace the damaged cable. Too much moisture in your crawl space could damage the cables, but is perhaps more threatening to the fabric of your home. Are you sure it is moist and sometimes dark areas may appear moist colder. Check that ventilation is adequate.
The expensive audiophile equipment with cables costing hundreds or even thousands of books we often fit rodent repellents sound in the empty spaces under floors. This is an inexpensive low maintenance to protect your property against all forms of rodent damage
You should definitely express your concerns in writing to the installer. He should be able to explain the installation and put your mind at rest on the quality of work.
