Imagine this: you go about your day as usual and apparently all is well. Then, suddenly and without warning, your heart is racing, you feel dizzy, and feel that the world is closing around you. You can also begin to think a lot of negative thoughts that you do not seem to control, and you're even afraid you might go mad. Sound familiar? You may experience a panic attack.

In fact, thousands of people like you experience a panic attack (or anxiety attack) each day. And the millions of experience at least once a year. They can be terrible to do because you feel them at different levels, including physical, emotional and psychological.

But what are the signs and symptoms of panic attacks, and how do you know if you really have?

Here are four signs and symptoms:

1. You walk fearing something unspeakable

People who are prone to experience panic attacks are often subjected to what psychiatrists call generalized anxiety disorder or generalized anxiety. This disorder is manifested by a complex set of symptoms and a correct diagnosis can be made by your doctor. However, one of the telltale signs that you have GAD is that you realize that you constantly walk around with a sense of a nameless, unknown sense of dread. This fear is not that just a classic sense of paranoia, but rather a feeling that you feel if you did the wrong thing or put you in the wrong situation, you can trigger a panic attack. Triggers (real or imaginary) vary from person to person but may include courses in open spaces, being in confined spaces, or being in a crowded place. This feeling of anxiety is the emotional side of panic attacks.

2. You experience sudden access of panic breathtaking

A feature of the mark of panic attacks is that they can also appear out of nowhere. Even if people who suffer from panic attacks often occupy themselves by thinking continuously trigger an attack, actually a panic attack may start at any time. Your heart is racing, and all other signs and symptoms are at full throttle. This element of surprise is what makes these attacks so dreaded.

3. You experience physical symptoms other witness

The physical symptoms you may experience when moving from an attack include increased heart rate, sweating, numbness in the limbs or chest, difficulty breathing, stomach, shaky hands, and excessive muscle tension. Once the attack is gone, you can be left with a feeling of extreme exhaustion - almost as if you had just run 10 miles long and read two novels in a period of one hour.

4. You experience the common symptoms of psychological

The attacks are also accompanied by psychological symptoms that occur both during and after. During an attack, you can begin to fear that you'll go crazy or that the walls are closing in on you. You can also feel a sense of embarrassment at what others may think of you in this state. At other times, you can walk in fear of another attack (see No. 1 above). You may also fear that if you continue to attack, you will not be able to perform your usual tasks, such as work, school or taking care of your children. This can add to your anxiety.
