Badminton RocketOutdoor Recreation in a recession

Times are tough. I know ... you know ... everybody knows. Many people are no longer able or willing to spend big bucks that some outdoor sports require. Nautical, for example, can be a very expensive outdoor recreation. Gas prices have skyrocketed and storage costs are high. Fun and carefree days on the boat motor is no longer an activity without stress.

outdoor recreation should not only be appreciated by all, but it should also cost very little if any money and stress and worry. There are enough things to worry about without having to worry about not being able to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends.

Fortunately, there are many great activities that cost very little money, if any at all. The outdoor recreational activities listed below can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

  • Frisbie Park
  • Hiking the trails - if you have children with you, it can be very fun to do a treasure hunt (with a little advance planning
  • Geo-cache
  • Cycling
  • Badminton
  • play basketball or volleyball

All the above activities are freebies ... which means you do not need to spend money to enjoy them. One of my favorite all-time personal outdoor activities happens to be kayaking. It can cost money to purchase a kayak course or even rent a kayak. If you are familiar with navigating but I promise you that the costs are minimal compared to running a motorboat energy.

Kayaks are self-powered and environmentally friendly. They do not harm the environment and allow for some great exercise. I love inflatable kayaks, as they can be easily transported and used anywhere.

In my opinion, the days of high gas pressure vessels are numbered. The costs to operate are simply too large and the destruction they are in our waters and our shores are almost irreparable. The kayak is the ideal outdoor activity while in a recession. The activity kayaking is booming and it is not necessary to spend a bundle. There are several high quality inflatable kayaks that can be purchased at a decent price and appreciated by the whole family.

The point is that just because money is tight, do not allow it to prevent you from enjoying the outdoors. We are so fortunate to have a beautiful world to live and go out for a huge mouthful of fresh air does not cost a cent.
